Erectile Dysfunction Drugs: Mechanism of Action
Simply put, Sildenafil citrate Viagra and other drugs showing the same effect on erection disorders (such as Herbal Viagra) expand the blood vessels and improve blood flow from the heart to the penile region. Men frequently buy these drugs to alleviate their relationship problems caused by inability to foster intimacy with their partners.
Viagra also increases oxygen transport via the blood stream to working muscles, particularly under high altitude conditions, where the air contains less oxygen compared to lowlands. Sildenafil works by inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiestrase-5, which actively degrades cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), the biochemical transport molecule that causes the relaxation of blood vessels. Inhibition of this enzyme promotes high vasodilation and greater blood flow through the arteries.
One study on Viagra mechanism of action involved cyclists, who were then tested for improved performance under high altitude conditions. The hypothesis was that the erectile dysfunction drug would allow the participants to breath in more oxygen at a molecular level, because constriction of blood vessels in the lungs is reduced.

However, all theories point to the fact that any physical exertion will benefit from the effects of these synthetic and herbal drugs that can cure impotence.
