Aphrodisiacs – Food That Puts the Appetite Back in Your Sex Life
The love goddess Aphrodite was famed in Greek mythology for the potions that she gave to her lovers to increase their sexual prowess. This legend gave birth to the term ‘aphrodisiac’, but it is no myth that certain foods can boost your sex life.
Ginger, for example, is one of the oldest aphrodisiacs known to man and this reputation has been backed up by modern research – in one study male rats given ginger extract were found to have increased testosterone levels and increased testicular weight, so it’s perfectly possible that ginger could have a similar effect on humans. Pecks Appeal: Birds Discover Benefits of Sex Supplements!
American scientists have found that a certain species of bird boosts its sex life by supplementing its diet, just like humans do. More Herbal Medicines Tested for Erectile Dysfunction Treatment
Traditional medicine experts in Zulu have long claimed that the extracts and decoctions from the roots of Eriosema kraussianum (family Fabaceae) and some other Eriosema species (uBangalala, common name, indigenous to Zulu region) are effective herbal remedies for alleviating erection problems in males. The mechanism of action, or how these extracts act on physiological processes to promote erection was evaluated using laboratory animals.
As with most experiments on probable sources of erection promoting drugs, the benchmark (positive control treatment) has always been Viagra, the wonder drug accidentally discovered during the 1990s to have a profound effect on male sexual function and erection quality during lovemaking.
Extracts from these plants were compared with sildenafil citrate in terms of erection responses in the animal models; and their effects on blood glucose reduction, possibly to test for hypoglycaemic effects (antidiabetes). Results suggested that the water-alcohol extracts from these plants showed hypoglycaemic and secondary, vasorelaxant effects, while Viagra only showed vasorelaxant effects.
It has only been 10 years since people have come to know Viagra and the implications of its continuous popularity. Why buy Viagra? Is there a problem with your sex life? In the past, some may still have been embarrassed to answer ‘yes’, but now, men and women alike have caught on and realized that maybe doing something about their sex life can lead to a happier union. With divorce being implemented in different countries, anything that helps save a marriage should be magnified and tried. Intimacy between husband and wife, particularly during the middle age crisis, is very important.
